Rev.
Alyce M. Kelly
Rev. Alyce M. Kelly recently relocated from Atlanta, GA to Springfield,
MA to accept the position of Designated Pastor of Martin Luther
King, Jr. Community Presbyterian Church. Rev. Kelly was born
in Cleveland, OH and had been a resident of Atlanta, GA for 20
years. In Atlanta, Rev. Kelly did her undergraduate studies
at Georgia State University and earned a Master of Divinity Degree
in the Psychology of Religion from the Interdenominational
Theological Center (ITC). She was ordained by the
Presbyterian Church (USA) to the ministry of Word and Sacrament in
May, 1995.
Rev. Kelly’s professional career
includes entrepreneurship; work with the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC), and international travel with the
Society of
International Business Fellows. She has
served as Intern Assistant Pastor in Saint Catherine, Jamaica and
is the former pastor of Allen Temple Presbyterian Church in
Cleveland, NC. She is the former Moderator of the Salem
Presbytery Black Caucus and has served on numerous General Assembly
and Presbytery Committees of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Rev. Kelly was installed as pastor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Community Presbyterian Church on June 1, 2003.
Ecumenism is one of Rev. Kelly’s many
ecclesiastical interests. By appointment of the General
Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, she has served on the
Consultation on Church Union and the Moravian/Reformed Dialogues of
which she is a current member.
Rev. Kelly is the mother of two adult sons
and has one grandson. She professes an abiding love for God
through Jesus Christ and a love for the Church, which is the body of Christ and consists of each
individual believer.n
