LOBY AND THE

DRAGONFLY

Written and Illustrated by:  Alexander Santiago, Brandi Bass and Rebecca Cohen-Lindfors

This delightful tale is about a lobe-fin fish that lived long ago during the Carboniferous Era and who, with the unsuspecting help of a dragonfly, “helped start a new specifies of Ichthyostega, which was more like an amphibian than a fish.”  The story was researched and created by three third grade students from Zanetti Montessori School in Springfield and was submitted by their teacher, Mrs. Conz, to Scholastic Magazine for its Kids are Authors annual competition.

According to Brandi Bass, “Although they did not win the competition, they still had a good time reading, researching and pretending they were authors and illustrators.” Great Job! n
