MESSAGE FROM THE PUBLISHER

Dear Advertiser:

Our newspaper, the Afro-American Point of View (Point of View), focuses on today’s issues and concerns that affect the Afro-American family and community.  Point of View is distributed free to the public and has been received with tremendous enthusiasm by Afro-Americans and by those who share an interest in the Afro-American point of view.

ARE YOU GETTING YOUR SHARE $ OF THE AFRO-AMERICAN MARKET?

A significant measure of our success can be found in the demand for newly published editions.  Several days after we distribute 7,500 copies to more than 200 distribution sites, people start regularly calling our office telling us that their normal site is empty and asking where else they can find copies.  And we constantly hear from readers who keep our paper on hand for review and discussion for several weeks at a time.

We started Point of View in February of 2003 with a conservative plan to distribute 5,000 copies four times a year in the first year and to escalate to 7,500 copies every other month for the second year.  In January of 2005 we began publishing 7,500 copies of Point of View once each month.  We also expanded our distribution to the greater Hartford area.

Our current advertisers have expressed satisfaction with the market exposure that they have gained by advertising in Point of View.  We have offered competitive pricing and quality copy and given discounts to advertisers who commit for the entire year.  Our advertisers are pleased with our product and comfortable with our services, which also include an interactive web site for news, web advertising and direct linkage from our web site to those of our advertisers.

Let me repeat an earlier question…

ARE YOU GETTING YOUR SHARE $ OF THE AFRO-AMERICAN MARKET?

The Afro-American market is one of the largest untapped resources in America’s consumer markets.  Just look at the increased advertising focus on the Afro-American market in both the electronic and print media.  The Afro-American market has been discovered and you don’t want to be left out of it.

Our Web site contains all of the information that you need to begin advertising with us, including an application that you can e-mail to our office by simply clicking on our web address.    You may also request a media kit.  The kit also contains all of the information you will need to become one of our many advertisers.  You may call or e-mail our office for further information or to place an ad.  I hope we hear from you soon.

Thank you for taking the time to consider advertising with Point of View.

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                Frederick A. Hurst, Publisher
