Clean Up the Hood

By Sharon Brice

One day there was a woman and she was walking up streets and down streets holding a sign in her hands.  A lady walks by and asked, "Why are you walking the streets with signs?"  The woman said, "I am trying to clean up the neighborhood before it's too late.  Join the march."  So the lady did.  Then there was another woman.  She was looking out the window.  She said, "I wonder what they are doing and why they are walking up and down the streets with signs?"  So she asked what was going on.  The woman said, "We are trying to clean up the neighborhoods before it's too late."  The lady joins the march.  Just then a man pulls up and asks what was going on.  The woman told him the same story.  He got out of his car and he said, "I live here."  The woman told him to join in the march.  The man said, "What am I marching for?"  She said, "We are trying to clean the neighborhood before it's too late."  The man joined in.  Then some young people came out.  The young people said, "I wonder why those people are walking back and forth in the street holding signs in their hands?"  The young people went over and asked them what was going on.  The people said, "We are trying to clean the neighborhood before it's too late."  The young people said, "Great, that's what I'm talking about.  We have seen so many young people get killed--a lot of death in the neighborhood.  We have even seen our friends get killed right in front of us.  We saw people lose their lives on these streets.  Would you care if we join in the march?"  The woman said, "No, we need everyone's help in this march.  We need to walk up and down the streets until we see some changes all over the world."

People, it is time to clean up the neighborhoods before it's too late!
