A
POEM FOR GRANDMA
By
Dyan Varnadore
Don't
cry for me you said when I'm gone,
Because
at peace is where I'll finally be
I
have lived my life for many years,
And
I have seen all there is to see
But
how is it possible not to cry
for
someone as amazing as she
Who
taught and showed so much love,
and
did so unselfishly
You
can't forget about her charming smile,
her
comforting eyes and voice
Her
gentle hands and wise words,
which
she used to make Jehovah's heart rejoice
I
truly believe that God considered her,
one
of his closest friends
Like
Abraham, Ruth and Job,
she
was faithful right down to the very end
She
ran the race with all her might,
and
always kept that prize in sight
No
matter what may be her plight,
she
fought that fine faithful fight
She
put on that shield of faith,
and
that breastplate for integrity
She
held her family's hands,
and
marched straight on to victory
So
now we have this choice before us,
to
follow her into paradise
Because
she has already made it there,
but
we still have to gain our lives
So,
Grandma, I promise you,
that
when you awake
I'll
meet you with a pair of climbing boots,
and
some shining new skates
We'll
climb the highest mountain,
and
ice skate all night long
and
gaze into the stars from our rocking chairs,
as
we sing your favorite song
We
will sing out with joy of heart,
because
we will finally have a part
We
will live for the day,
because
we can finally say
Life
Without End at Last!!!
