WE HAVE TO GIVE BACK

We have to give back,

Because where would you be, if no one cared,

if no one dared,

to put you in your place,

or said something positive

to put a smile on your face!

We have to give back,

because he can be a future leader,

OR your future murderer,

because you may be the first person to tell her,

that she matters,

Because you can replace tears of pain,

with those of laughter.

We have to give back,

because we know what it’s like to not feel loved,

To be ignored instead of acknowledged.

Because he could be first in his family to go to college.

We have to give back,

because we’ve been there and done that,

and we don’t want her to follow that path

No more excuses; we can’t be too busy,

We can’t avoid, or pretend we don’t see.

It’s our responsibility…
