The Greater Springfield Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is hosting a book signing event on January 26, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm at the Art for the Soul Gallery located in downtown Springfield at 1500 Main Street. The acclaimed featured author will be Dr. Yolanda Lenzy, Clinical Director and Owner of Lenzy Dermatology located in Chicopee, MA. Dr. Lenzy utilizes her unique perspective as a board-certified dermatologist and licensed cosmetologist to help patients and clients deal with hair loss from a medical, as well as, an aesthetic perspective. Her expertise is rooted in her extensive and unique training and experience.  This unique viewpoint has culminated into her newly released book, Getting To The Root: A Dermatologist’s & Cosmetologist’s Guide to Understanding Hair. Dr. Lenzy is currently on tour promoting her book.

As a licensed cosmetologist, Dr. Yolanda Lenzy has the gift of using her training in product ingredient knowledge, hair cutting, coloring, and styling to help her clients undergo amazing transformations and achieve healthier hair. As a dermatologist, she provides a professional patient diagnosis and devises an evidence-based plan to enable her patients to either overcome or better manage the issue. In her book, Dr. Lenzy lays out the 15 different types of hair loss and scalp disorders, including the symptoms present, a patient’s experience, her treatment regimens, as well as other treatments that may be prescribed in general cases.  Getting To The Root: A Dermatologist’s & Cosmetologist’s Guide to Understanding Hair provides the reader with evidence-based knowledge, empowerment and the necessary tools to get to the root of any hair loss issue.

Barbara A. Gilchrest, M.D., Chair-Emeritus, Department of Dermatology of Boston University’s School of Medicine offers these words of praise for the book: “In her opening chapter, “Why I Wrote This Book,” Dr. Yolanda Lenzy describes wanting to help others from early childhood. With this accessible, highly informative book, Dr. Lenzy will achieve her goal for many people, particularly for women of color, whose special hair problems have previously received far too little attention.” Join the Greater Springfield Chapter of The Links, Incorporated as they celebrate Dr. Lenzy’s Getting To The Root on January 26th from 2pm to 4pm at the Art for the Soul Gallery located in downtown Springfield at 1500 Main Street.  RSVP at www.lenzyderm.com/tour.
